Seventh Generation Natural All Purpose Cleaner Review

Sweet: Cleans quickly, effectively and unscented
Sour: Availability in stores
I tried my best to put this cleaner to the test. I am really impressed with this. It matched up to  my normal cleaner on the counters, sink, etc. In addition to our normal use I tested it out on our glass windows and cleaned them beautifully. Next I tested it on the pink stain on the off-white counter (from powdered juice mix) and it cleaned that off nicely too. Lastly I cleaned the grease off the front of our rotisserie, in this it exceeded my expectations and cut through the grease nicely. It actually did a much better job than my normal all-purpose cleaner. I liked that there was no scent to this product. My normal cleaner has a vinegar smell which I always  thought I liked, but now I prefer the unscented cleaner.
Overall I think this is comparable to my normal household cleaner, with a slight advantage over when it came to grease.
I had trouble finding this in store, but when I do I will definitely be buying this.
Seventh Generation All Purpose Cleaner is
  • Non-toxic & biodegradable
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Does not create harsh fumes
  • Not tested on animals
  • Kosher-certified
Also, I am a big fan that Seventh Generation discloses all their ingredients. Seriously, who does that? That is fantastic. Working where I do and doing what I do, I know the ins and outs of what gets declared on the back of a product. The fact that Seventh Generation puts it all out there is truly brave and honorable.

Seventh Generation Paper Towel Review

So here is my first compensated review. Seventh Generation has sent me some products to look at and let you know what I think of them.

First up. Paper Towels.

Sweet: Eco-friendly, cost, works well.

Sour: A select-a-size option would be better.

We set these up in our house after we finished our last bit of our preferred paper towels. I have to say, these did a really nice job. They reminded me of the Sparkle brand paper towels that my mom used to buy. I definitely felt good about using these though. It was a nice feeling to use an eco friendly paper towel that didn’t break the bank. When I went looking, these were readily available at our local grocery stores. Nice! Oddly enough, we had lots of baby messes to pick while these were around. I would definitely use these again. My only wish is that they had a select-a-size option. I think this would really drive home the idea of not wasting our resources, and frankly most of the time I don’t need a full paper towel.

Seventh Generation Paper Towels are:

  • 100% recycled paper (minimum 80% post-consumer, 20% pre-consumer)
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Whitened without chemicals containing chlorine or unwhitened
  • Strong and absorbent
  • Unscented
  • No added dyes and fragrances

*Update

Thanks to a question from Jen, I am going to compare the paper towels to other brands we have used.

This paper towel seems like a good basic paper towel. It is comparable to Marcal or Sparkle. It isn’t as thick as any of the premium brands (Bounty, Brawny or Scott). But it is thicker than store brands. Seventh Generation paper towels picked up less than the premium brands but the difference is small enough that we would continue to use this brand.
